________
lys foto considers submissions.
We are looking for work that is strong and distinct, brings something fresh to the connected [mobile] photographic community, is immediately compelling, and has a tight, cohesive, polished edit.
The images we feature spark the imagination, feeling, and intellect of our Editorial Review Board and audience. Although the majority of the work we publish is user-submitted, we do invite essays that our board considers to be of outstanding quality.
Our goal is to showcase the finest visual arts arising from people’s creative engagement with the medium: hand-held mobile devices, whether established or new photographers/artists. We believe the most compelling, revealing, insightful and beautiful work arises from the vision and ingenuity of people, and it is, as Eve Arnold states, “. . . the photographer, not the camera, that is the instrument.”
We consider only image captured, edited, or created entirely on hand-held mobile devices: iPhone, Android, WinPhones, Blueberry, or others.; they may be apped or not. We publish a variety of genres but all have in common quality of expression, medium, form, narrative, or perspective.
