lys foto [loos foh-toh] is an on-line magazine of new connected photography.
We believe images should be contemplated and not only consumed and are dedicated to offering a space that encourages a deepening of relationship among artist, audience, and work as well as a blurring of boundaries between art, photography, technology, and community.
lys foto features images captured with and created on mobile devices. We bring together a showcase of diverse bodies of work by new, emerging, and established artists across the globe. Each issue engages dialogue among varied perspectives, artists, and viewers. We aim to feature images that inspire, captivate, and change or deepen our views and understanding of one another in our time, spaces, and cultures.
lys foto’s purpose is to enhance public interest in and engagement with new photographic arts through the finest images, to explore and expand the intersections among photography, culture, and social media communities, to bring viewers inspiring photographers, artists, and writers working with hand-held, mobile devices, and to support the work of photographers/artists from diverse backgrounds, cultures, regions, and perspectives.
lys foto was founded by Star Rush and Jennifer Inslee in April 2012.
